Hey all, just thought it was about time i began a thread on a map ive been working on. All started when i found a plugin for google sketchup which allows exporting to hammer format, called 'play up tools' (www.playuptools.com). I've always wanted to make my own maps, but hammer feels like some inaccessable pile of DOS, to be honest i just dont have the patience to learn it all. So im using sketchup to draw with and hammer to do the rest.
Takes a few stages in sketchup before its ready to export after drawing it up, and even then will require finishing in hammer, will be a while yet.
I've got a little overly ambitious, wanted to cram as much as i could in, and im still adding stuff! Probably gonna hit some limitations on the way. Idea is to have atleast lots of land with an interesting central 'tower', and a whole maps' worth of sea under the land with some interesting stuff down there (get bored of the same 'swimming pool' water maps)...... hang on, i'll just show you!
I've decided to censor the underwater area for now, not alot down there, just the bones of a few ideas im fleshing out, but want to leave them for when the maps done so as to 'promote a sense of exploration' lol.
i'll add more when i get it so im happy, any questions apart from 'why dont you just use hammer'? lol ;p
