    Your probably right, when it comes to simple designs.. but when you need a software that you need for a design profession, Photoshop, Illustrator, Coral Painter, Indesign is better. I must say though.. they are a hell of alot of money, yeah Aww but if your a great artist or designer you'll make that money back in no time. I've never used GIMP.. I take it, I won't be able to drawn my detailed pictures in this software?

    I think you should still be able to draw detailed, and if you can, we get it for free! bounce

    Some of the filters are more sophisticated on Photoshop, but GIMP is SO much easier to use.

    i don't know how you do it in PS, but gimp has a lot of different brushes and such that should do really well =]
    only thing about GIMP, is that it takes getting used to, and can be very confusing at first.

    Same with Photoshop. I started my studies on it at v6 (I was 15-16).. we now have CS4 which is v13-14 (I forget). I know a lot to do with PS, but not all of it.
