RAWR!!!!! Let some 'Steam' off!

Well first night back on Steam and you'll never guess what friggin well happened....... yep Gmod didn't work, I tried everything from installing all my games again, even deleted the whole of Steam *sobs* and started from scratch... and nothing!
After about 1hour and a half of watching Bam and you guy's on the server I started getting annoyed with it and crused the hell outter my computer!

BLOODY THING!!!

Realising that Steam stresses others out to (Erik ).. among other things, I decided to post this thread, to help stop people from wanting to brake there computers and what not and to vent that enraging energy Sooo if Steam &%$£ you off, or just had a bad day ya can come and rant and rave about it here!!

Also I reeaalllly hate Gmod updates!!! AND Girl/Boy bands! (Girls ALoud/Mc Fly) with there dancing together and singing thats just sickening ..they make me so angry!

was about to approach our router/modem with my wooden bat, but my dad told me off :/
Result was i broke the b-button off my keyboard, and got it spiked into my finger instead >.>

other stuff i hate:
Windows VISTA. It eats up my cpu speed AND all of my RAM. Can't even use my alienware dekstop suites with it or anything. i want Xp baaaack! :*swear*:

but in relation to ur gmod-trouble, i'm far from sure what the issue could be, but i'm guessing it is an insufficient GPU, since it is teh reason that it crashes on my work-lappie.

tryed updating video drivers and that sortta stuff?

also, you could try settings the launch options of gmod to this:
-novid

basicly it just disables the Valve logo intro, but its worth a try..

I even uninstalled ALL Steam related games, including Steam, and reinstalled them on Vixen's faster, better Samsung Spinpoint HDD.. I'm currently working on it now, so I'll let you all know what I did if I succeed =]

I like Vista, all the problems I've had so far, I can't pin-point them to Vista, although vista may have been apart of some of the problems.. non of them were entirly vista-related f*ck-ups!

i really think that it was the same problem as described in the article i sent ya.
that the GPU runs at a speed of 8x, whilst the socket in the motherboard only supports up to 4x. This restricts the GPU at running at a max of 4x, so it only performs 50%.
so when u set the Directx run on the game to an older version, it goes within what the GPU can run in it's current socket...

i'm sure you've thought this out already... but still, it makes me feel smart

But, woah, 95 isn't exactly an older version. It's the highest directx level Source can support.

God damn ****ing steam. I hate it. Was gunna buy L4D... **** that, I ain't buying ANYTHING that relies on steam. I have the same problem I had months ago.. open friends list, steam shuts off, everything.. no warning or error message, just closes the lot.

Oh yea, I got owned by one of the nerds but then I smashed his face 2 times with my fist and kicked him over his leg, and ran some yards away from them. Then they tried to storm me and Xike. Oh yea, I just hate winther. Goddamn 9th graders.

I was stucked at update. 26 ****ing percent. I needed to get a cracked steam, uninstall everything and go back to normal steam. To those who want to know why I'm on a cracked steam right now it's because of steam support being such a dick. The 26% problem happened WAY before all this (in November of 2008).

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i h burnt my finger on the over and now i cant Press W right in Gmod Damn the Irony!!! Damn you!
